Kodak T-Max 100 is one of the finest-grained, sharpest black-and-white films still made. Its T-grain emulsion produces very smooth tones and crisp detail, which is why it is popular for landscapes, architecture and large format, where big enlargements show everything.
That precision comes with less slack than a traditional film: it is sensitive to development time and temperature, and highlights can block up if it is overdeveloped. Many people rate it at box speed or slightly under and develop carefully. Like T-Max 400, it can leave a magenta tint that a full fix clears. For a more traditional fine-grain look, compare it with Ilford FP4 Plus or Fujifilm Acros II.
