Post a photo this week - Win a 5 pack of Portra 400

How to enter

Upload a photograph made on film to the community gallery before 8:00pm EST on Friday 28 August. That's it — no form to fill in beyond the usual upload.

Anything made on film counts: a lab scan, a flatbed scan, or a negative photographed with a digital camera. What doesn't count is an image originally captured on a digital sensor.

If you've already posted a photo since August 15th, you're entered — you don't need to do anything else.

The prize

Five rolls of Kodak Portra 400, in 35mm or 120 — winner's choice.

How the winner is chosen

The winner is drawn at random from all entries. Every approved photo is one entry, so if you post three photos you have three chances.

Separately, I'll pick a favorite frame to feature on the front page and write a line about why. That's my choice rather than a vote, and it's independent of the draw — the featured photo and the prize winner may well be different people.

The details

• Open to anyone with an account. It's free to register.
• You must be 18 or over.
• Prize ships to US addresses only. Sorry — unprocessed film and international customs don't mix well.
• Only photos approved and published in the gallery count as entries. Uploads still awaiting review at the deadline won't be in the draw, so don't leave it to the last hour.
• One entry per published photo. No limit on how many you post, but please keep it to work you'd genuinely want people to see.
• The winner is drawn on Friday evening and contacted by email. If I don't hear back within seven days I'll draw again — so keep an eye on the address you registered with and check your spam folder.
• I'll ask for a postal address by email when you win. Nothing is stored on the site.
• Photos stay in the gallery afterwards, and you keep the rights to your own work as always. See the Terms.
